Week 14 - Fat Loss II results slide continue!

  • Weight - 14st 8.75lbs (up a full 2lbs from last week)
  • Body Fat % - 8.2% (apparently up 0.9% from last week)
  • Waist - just 34 inches (up slightly from last week)

If I'm honest I'm very disappointed with the results returned this week. The worrying thing is that I'm not sure why this has happened. At first glance there's nothing that stands out in anything that I've done that I can say yes, I did that wrong and this wrong which would account for the increases. As far as I can see I've been sticking to plan so that fact alone is quite worrying. Let's take a closer look at the results. The weight issue is something that I cannot explain but perhaps it may be that I've reduce the sessions down to 2 per week after Fat Loss I and maybe I've been consuming too much peanut butter as a regular treat. If it's not that I don't know and to be honest I'm clutching at straws really.

The BF% result is a big difference but it may be that last weeks result was the one out of sync and that it was reporting a truer figure this week as it is in line with the reading recorded two weeks ago (exactly in fact). So perhaps this isn't as bad as a result as it first looks. However, there is not getting away from the fact that the waist measurement has slightly increased which is definitely not what I want so there is something not quite right. My intention this coming week is to try and discover what that is and I'm going to start by cutting out most of the peanut butter I consume and seeing what effect that has.

On a quick note I have been cycling hard this week and taking an alternative route home a couple of times to try a different hill (variety the's spice of life and all that). Anyway I'll try and keep you updated on how things go.

Cheers, BustaGut!

B-A-G, This must be disappointing. I'm interested to hear what you find out. I hit a wall at about a 34" waist. I can't get below that. I have not tried upping my cardio. I'm planning to do that this week. From what I read in your blog you do not count calories. Is that true? I track mine. There's no number I shoot for, I just like to keep track. I know it's not necessary on TNT. I'm looking forward to your thoughts about how you've reached this wall and slipped backward some.

Thanks Stewart,

I do use the blog as a bit of a rant sometimes just to get it out of my system. I suppose that we all hit these plateaus from time to time. I can remember on the other programmes within NROL and when I first did TNT workouts that there were patches that seemed very difficult to get out of. I too haven't yet managed to get much lower than a 34" waist but am happy with that. My main concern is %BF but as you can appreciate this is somewhat difficult to measure accurately and consistently so doesn't help when your trying to record progress. Your right that I don't count calories and it is the main reason that the TNT diet attracted me to it in the first place as I really wanted to avoid all that if possible. I will try and update the blog with results but for info I'm avoiding the peanut butter at the moment and keeping more of an eye on what dressings and sauces I'm using and when I do use them use them more sparingly. I cycle to and from work most days but I would suggest doing some interval training if your looking for some cardio to burst through the wall. Long sessions of steady state cardio can be a little counter productive. Hmm perhaps I should take my own advice on this as well if the plateau is still there this coming weigh in.

Take care, BustaGut!
